When the U.S. faced off against Trinidad & Tobago, they really didn’t have to do much in order to advance to the 2018 World Cup. They had to do something though, and honestly...they didn’t. A win or draw would have sent them on to Russia, and they couldn’t do that. Even with a loss they had a decent shot, but nothing fell right for the Americans.
